Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the reliability of the adapted version of the Special Needs Questionnarie for Brazilian Portuguese in a sample of parents and/or guardians of children born prematurely from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Method: This is a methodological study. The proposed step in this study will be performed from home visits. The eligibility criteria of the participants will be: parents and / or guardians, over 18 years old, of premature children born from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. At least 50 parents and/or guardians will be recruited. The adapted version of the instrument to be applied contains 20 items that must be answered using a Likert scale with 5 response possibilities. After a fortnight, a second home meeting will be scheduled to reapply the adapted version, a method known as test-retest. To assess the reliability of the adapted version, internal consistency will be calculated from the Cronbach's alpha test and reproducibility from the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient. In addition, the existence of floor effect and ceiling effect will be verified. Expected Outcomes: Provide an appropriate and reliable instrument to measure the continuity of care of premature newborns. It is also expected to subsidize care planning in order to enhance the integral and integrated actions after hospital discharge.
