Abstract

This project aims to conduct research in the UNESCO archives in Paris, concerning the International Institute of Intellectual Cooperation (IIIC), an organization that preceded UNESCO in the framework of the former League of Nations. The IIIC documentary collections contain a set of records of popular traditions from various countries of the West. This proposal intends to understand how the aforementioned traditions were appropriated by a pacifist discourse, playing a decisive role in the diplomatic policies of the Interwar period. (AU)
