Abstract

Melanoma is a neoplasm that affects melanocytes due to its high metastatic potential and and depending is at the disease stage, it is pretty hard difficult to treat, which decreases the patient's survival rate. So new alternatives are being studied in relation to the treatment, and among those studies there have the use of essential oils (OEs) that have various properties biological, among them, the antitumor. However, due to the rapid volatilization of OEs, this makes with us not notice their effects in a prolonged form. Therefore, in this project we aim to develop a skin dressing using the hydrocolloid plaque containing the OEs for the treatment of melanoma. To carry out this study will be used the murine melanoma strain (B16F10) is required, while the OEs will be the melaleuca, lemon, lavender (Lavandula augustifolia) and lemon balm (Lippia alba). Hydrocolloid (PH) plates in different thicknesses will be used for the method of saturation of OEs and volatilization about the in vitro culture. For the characterization of HPs with OEs will be done essay of FTIR-ATR, AFM-IR and tensile tests. The In vitro studies will beby means of performed with cell viability tests, morphology, cell death type, migration and intracellular protein evaluation. With this study it is expected to find results that will provide preliminary data on the use of PH containing OE as a possible alternative for the treatment of melanoma.
