Abstract The research's objective is analyze repertories and discursive productions about Americanist's conceptions wrote and defended inside Cuadernos Americanos, Mexican cultural review created in 1942, which had an important relevance in Latin America political and cultural scenario. Mexico post-revolutionary, with the consolidation of Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), stimulated debates and discussions about identity and unity of Latin American people. Cuadernos Americanos, founded and directed by the historian Jesús Silva Herzog, brought together intellectuals who questioned notions of revolution, popular participation in politics and ideals related to many historical experiences - for example, Spanish Civil War and the spread of socialism throughout the world. Therefore, our investigation extends from the review foundation until 1959, when happened the Cuban Revolution - fundamental milestone in American history. Many Americanist's conceptions, idealized by authors from several Latin American countries were manifested in the review, such as Haya de la Torre proposed an Indoamérica, valuing the indigenous culture, instead of the European origin manifested in "Latin"; on the other hand, the Pan-americanism notion, centered in United States, has been widely criticized. Thus, we propose to analyze this world-magazine using intellectual history and global history, in order to show that by articulating so many questions and repositioning the discussion about identities in a multifaceted country, the collaborators sought to build paper bridges and project a structured idea by clamor of the revolution.
