Abstract

This research project intends to study the Eighth Satire from the satirical author Juvenal, usually known as the poet of the indignatio. It aims to give special attention to his poetic persona and its function in his work, as well as how this satire relates to Book III - marked by an apparent transition in the author's style -, identifying the main references and intertexts from this work and understanding how it relates to the poetic, philosophical and political tradition around nobilitas.
