Abstract

Over the past few years, there has been an increase in the amount and variety of data generated by public health systems. However, few teams have been able to analyze this data quickly due to its size and complexity, reducing their potential impact in the support of elaboration of public policies based on evidence. In this scenario, we are collaborating with São Paulo Municipal Health Secretariat (SMS-SP) to study some databases and develop a data visualization platform. We are researching and developing an approach to large-scale processing and visualization that allows analysis through advanced techniques for data visualization. Our first studies and prototypes are based in the hospitalization data from Unified Health System (SUS). Our proposal is to define a software solution that allow integration with the Hospital Information System (SIH-SUS) data sets from any region in Brazil. The goal is that our approach facilitates the performance of advanced research, applying composite filters to all attributes of the stored data. Our research includes the study of different map visualizations, which can offer, in an agile way, inputs to create reports and support decisions to help improve public health policies for the Brazilian population.
