Hemogram and erythrocyte osmotic fragility in broilers chickens feeded with pequi oil

Abstract

A research aims to study the effects of pequi oil under hematological parameters and on the erythrocyte osmotic fragility of broilers reared at the temperature of comfort and heat stress. For this purpose, 300 male pins, of the Cobb® 500 lineage, will be used, which will not be housed in galvanized wire cages (0.4x0.5x0.60m) with trough type feeders arranged frontally in the cage and nipple-type drinkers, in two climatic chambers: thermoneutral and another with cyclic heat stress, 30 cages each, and the stress temperature will be maintained for 8 hours each day. The design will be completely randomized, in a 2 x 5 factorial scheme (two temperatures (thermoneutral and cyclic heat stress) and five procedures: (basal + four levels of pequi oil inclusion: 0.15; 0.30; 0.45 ; 0.60%) with six repetitions with five birds each. As the experimental experiments will be devoid of antibiotics as the best performance, anticoccidial will be used in all tests. Temperature monitoring and the relative air ratio will be carried out by means of up to 35 days of age are collected or blood from two birds per experimental unit for analysis of complete blood count and erythrocyte osmotic fragility. The data are tabulated and analyzed with statistical program. SAS 9.2 (Instituto SAS, 2008).
