Abstract

This research aims to analyze the Brechtian epic elements in the production of the play Ponto de Partida (1976), written by Gianfrancesco Guarnieri (1934-2006) and directed by Fernando Peixoto (1937-2012). Hereby, this research aims to raise both theoretical and historical bibliography and the primary material about the theme and the staging. Besides that, there is also the interview with the actresses Sônia Loureiro and Ana Braga who were present in the 1976 play. In addition, the research seeks to understand in the practical ways the epic resources of Bertolt Brecht (1898-1956) in the Guarnieri text's, from producing and presenting a dramatic reading of the play Ponto de Partida, linked to the Dramaturgy and Performing Writings Laboratory of the Performing Arts Department.
