Abstract

The use of immediate weather forecasting, known as Nowcasting, is becoming increasingly important to alert the population to a possible severe storm. This short-term forecast is generally based on data obtained from meteorological stations and satellite images and weather radars and software is generally used to assist in the analysis of this data. IPMet has used TITAN for this purpose. However, you are using an outdated version, considering the existence of the new improved version of this software, LROSE. Observing such importance in the development of Nowcasting systems, severe storm analysis will be carried out using data from the GOES-16 satellite and the S-Band Bauru radar using the LROSE software. This software will be implemented and tested in IPMet in order to take advantage of the new features and functionalities it has, with the purpose of improving the severe storm alerts provided by IPMet. This information is passed to the civil defenses of the regions and through its web page the alerts are also provided in real time to the entire population that has access to the internet.
