Abstract

Stroke is considered the second leading cause of death and disability worldwide, these disabilities can cause a limitation in activities of daily living, affecting the quality of life and independence of patients. The Fragility Syndrome was defined in 2013 as "A medical syndrome with multiple causes and contributions that are characterized by strength of endurance, resistance and reduced physiological functions or that which increases an individual's vulnerability to further development and / or death". It is estimated that up to 27% of the population over 65 years old is equal to these numbers increased proportionally to age. Primary Objective: to assess the incidence of Fragility Syndrome in elderly people admitted to the Stroke Unit in three moments: 72 hours after the event in a gravity way, at discharge and 90 days after. Secondary: Identify the profile of patients who used a unit in relation to the presence of frailty. Associated presence of frailty syndrome with variables and clinics. Associate a presence of the Fragility Syndrome with the outcomes: length of stay, clinical complications during hospitalization, stroke and death. Check the association between clinical conditions and stroke with the presence of syndrome after 90 days. Analyze the agreement of the FRAIL, Fragility Index and Prisma-7 instruments regarding the diagnosis of Fragility Syndrome. Methods: this is an observational cohort study, which will include diagnoses of stroke aged greater than or equal to 40 years. We used how to select Apgar from the family, Barthel and to assess the fragility performed with Fragil, Fragility Index and Prisma-7. The individuals went through three moments of admission, which are subject to changes in a registered manner, at discharge and 90 days after discharge.
