Abstract

This research intends the analysis of Brazil's representations in 2d (two-dimensional) electronic games of the 1980s and 1990s, based on an interface between Social Semiotics and Ludology, proposing an analytical methodology in which video game's ludic, interactive and narrative structures are focused upon. This process will emphasize the instantiated strategies in the multimodal meaning creation (meaning making) and the ideological structures that constrain the socially and culturally embedded representations in the proposed corpus.
