Abstract

Speech-language therapy uses several strategies for health education. In the literature, child care materials for adults are found, but there are still no validated children's stories about child self-care and health education in speech- language therapy for children. Objectives: To develop and validate a series of children's stories about speech-language therapy and children's self-care. Methodology: The study will be developed in two stages. The first stage will be the elaboration of ten children's stories with guiding questions addressed to the child and explanatory notes to the caregivers about the theme of each story. These will be illustrated using colors and in black and white for coloring by the child. The second stage will involve the validation of educational materials by 60 judges: 20 family members, 20 speech-language therapists and 20 educators. For the recruitment of the target audience (family members, educators, speech-language therapists), an invitation will be posted on the researchers' social network "Facebook"; each invitation was created according to the target audience. The online Free and Informed Consent Form will be available at http://forms.gle/HaKK4HPz7xYLH9. After reading, if the reader is interested in participating in the research, they will receive the quesionnaire's link. Before answering the questionnaire, the participants should access and read the educational material available on a website developed using a free platform (wixsite.com). Subsequently, they must answer the questionnaire with 27 questions, 7 which refer to the judges' categorization and 20 about the materials (content, vocabulary, illustration, structure and motivation). The questions follow a five-point Likert scale of agreement, which ranges from: 1= strongly disagree; 2= partially disagree; 3= neither agree nor disagree; 4= partially agree; 5= totally agree. There is also the option to click on "I do not know or I do not want to answer" (NS). The estimated duration of filling is 30 minutes. The validation will be performed from the Content Validity Index (CVI) of the agreement of the answers obtained through the questionnaire. The minimum level of agreement between the judges on the decision to change or not to change the materials will be at least 80%. The CVI will be calculated for each category of judges, in addition to the general CVI.
