Abstract

This Scientific Initiation Project has the purpose of studying the educational politics, implemented during the president Eurico Gaspar Dutra administration (1946-1951), with the objective to promote the qualification of labor. For decades, the economical historiographic debate regarding the president centered in the analysis of his tax, credit and exchange rate policies; and the impact of those in the national economy. However, few studies focused on a policy that is key to understand the national productivity, the industrial production, and the development of a country: the educational policy. Therefore, given the central role of labor qualification in the development process of a country, and the reduced number of studies that analyze the educational policies implemented during Dutra's government, this project will study the policies that promoted the formation of human capital executed by this presidency.
