Abstract The widespread neglect with the environment and with the waste disposal has made marine pollution a global issue. The world's population perception about our intricate relationship of interdependence with other living organisms and with nature is still too shallow. Even with some relative progress regulating the use of disposable plastic products, we are still far from an effective solution regarding the issue of sustainable management of natural resources. Our society relies heavily on resources from the sea, and because of this, conflicts of interest in some areas are common. The present work aims to promote the dissemination of the research activities of the Management Laboratory of the Oceanographic Institute (LabManejo - IOUSP). Among the research lines of the laboratory, the integrated management of marine coastal ecosystems, and analysis of environmental impacts that affect these ecosystems can be highlighted. This work will focus on complementing the actions and efforts of the laboratory in promote integration, from the spheres of science, politics and society. In addition, among other activities within this project, journalistic articles will be made for the Labjor's magazine ComCiência. | |
