Abstract

It is well known that the energy consumption of a country is strictly related to its economic growth. Thus, to improve the power transformer performance, it is necessary to develop a new proceeding to aim the reduction of power loss of grain oriented electrical steel (GOES). One alternative to achieve this goal is the performance of stress annealing (TTT) since it could reduce the power loss of magnetic materials. However, in recent research performed by our group, it was observed that was an experimental results fluctuation for the GOES samples, indicating that could exist another parameter that could influence the results. Although all the GOES samples show a strong Goss texture aligned parallel to the rolling direction, there is a considerable texture intensity variation between each sample. In this work, it will be measured the texture intensity and stress annealing efficiency, aiming to identify a correlation between then. Thus, all the samples will be stress annealed at 500°C, 40 MPa and 20 minutes. Finally, the hysteresis loops and your magnetic properties (coercive field and remanence) will be analyzed to explain the stress annealing effect at power loss.
