Abstract

It is well known that a country's energy consumption is strictly related to its economic growth. Thus, to improve power transformer performance, it is necessary to develop a new procedure to reduce power loss on grain-oriented electrical steel (GOES). One alternative to achieve this goal is the performance of stress annealing (TTT) since it could reduce power loss on magnetic materials. However, in recent research performed by our group, It was demonstrated that crystallographic texture might influence the performance of this treatment, generating high result discrepancy between the samples. Consequently, to evaluate the treatment temperature which produces the highest power loss reduction, it is necessary to use the same group of samples in both projects. Therefore, the present project aims to accomplish the stress annealing (40 MPa, for 10-20 minutes) at 500°C using the same studied samples of the FAPESP # 2021/03604-0 project which performed the stress annealing with a temperature of 400°C. At the end of the project, the hysteresis loops and their magnetic properties (power loss, coercive field, and remanent field) will be compared after and before stress annealing conditions. Furthermore, these results will be compared with those of the FAPESP # 2021/03604-0 project to identify which temperature produces lower power losses.(AU)
