Abstract

Alkaloids are secondary metabolites found in plants and animals displaying several biological activities making them targets for the development of new drugs. However, the big challenge is to achieve an efficient and enantioselective process to these natural products. In this way, we propose an enzymatic cascade route involving transaminases (TA), followed by a spontaneous intramolecular Aza-Michael reaction (AMR)1 to produce 2,5-disubstituted pyrrolidines.
