Abstract

Objective: This study aims to relate cough to pharyngeal findings in individuals with Parkinson's disease. Method: Thirty individuals with a diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease, confirmed by neurological examination, regardless of age, sex or time / stage of the disease, will be selected by convenience sample from the database of a Dysphagia Diagnosis and Rehabilitation Center. Only individuals who underwent a clinical and objective swallowing assessment will be included. Information about the presence of cough will be collected directly from the clinical swallowing assessment protocol and the pharyngeal findings from the report of the fiberoptic endoscopy swallowing examination (FESS). For statistical analysis, a test will be performed to relate the study variables.
