Abstract

This research aims to understand the process of sense attribution to the pedagogical activity by elementary school teachers from a public school in the countryside of São Paulo during the remote an emergency measures of the COVID-19 pandemic, describing and analyzing their practice. In this context, as pointed out by exploratory researches, the pedagogical work is under conditions that mischaracterize its practice, bringing psychological suffering to teachers and students. Based on the cultural-historical psychology and critical-historical pedagogy as theoretical background, the category personal sense was chosen, as a product of the activity and, at the same time, an element that transforms it, having a strong connection with the motives to engage in the activity and the affective components that result from it. As for the methodology, it is intended to apply a questionnaire to map the conditions of teaching work in this period, as well as a semi-structured interview to understand the personal sense and its changes. The questionnaire will be analyzed quantitatively based on descriptive statistics, while the interviews will be analyzed through meaning cores. Moreover, in order to complement the data, the contents of documents, indicated by teachers in the questionnaire as elements that guided their practice in this period, will be analyzed. Finally, this scientific initiation research is integrated with a broader research project entitled "Psychology, education and remote work in the pandemic context: public policies, social practices and resistance" which is being developed by the members of the WG 59 (Psychology and public policies) of ANPEPP (National Association of Research and Graduate Studies in Psychology).
