Abstract

In March 2020, the world was ravaged by the COVID-19 pandemic, making essential face-to-face practices, such as education, impossible. In this context, emergency remote teaching emerges in order to enable the resumption of educational activities through digital technologies. Currently, face-to-face classes have returned, but remote teaching has left deep marks on teachers and students, making it necessary to take an investigative look at this. From this perspective, this dissertation project seeks to look at the history[s] of training of teachers who teach Mathematics in face-to-face courses in order to analyze the implications for the practice of teacher trainers, in the post- pandemic, in sister-speaking countries (Brazil-Portugal). Specialized literature points to problems regarding mathematical training and training for teaching Mathematics to students in Pedagogy (Brazil) and in the Degree in Basic Education (Portugal), such as knowledge about mathematical content and a negative personal relationship with the discipline . Given the old scenario (before the pandemic) and the consequences of remote teaching, this project is part of an attempt to understand the view of trainers regarding structural and pedagogical changes in their practices when returning in person to classes at Educational Institutions. Higher Education (HEI) where they teach, in both countries. For this, a study based on Comparative Education and Oral History is proposed as a methodology. In general, it is understood that this proposal is important to investigate the current situation of initial training, as well as to contribute to studies in the area, since the pandemic is a recent, atypical and historical event.
