Abstract

Pelvic floor disorders affect women globally, with millions of surgical cases for correction, generating high expenses and great personal suffering (Milsom I et al., 2009). There are several known risk factors to develop these diseases, such as pregnancy and childbirth - periods with higher prevalence of conditions as urinary incontinence. The Australian Pelvic Floor Questionnaire (APFQ) was developed in order to assess the pelvic floor disorders and their risk factors. The purpose of this study is to carry out a translation, cultural adaptation and validation of the AFPQ to the Brazilian Portuguese, following the methods recommended by the guideline proposed by Beaton (Beaton et al., 2000). For the analysis of the construct's validity, the PFDI-20 (Pelvic Floor Disability Index) and the FSFI (Female Sexual Function Index) will be used. To assess this validity, the Spearman correlation coefficient will be measured. To analyze the internal consistency of the scale, Cronbach Alpha Coefficient will be used. To assess reliability, the intraclass correlation indices - ICC (2,1) and ICC (3,1) - will be calculated.
