Abstract

This scholarship is linked to the research grant (thematic project) "Cluster Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) for late life Depression in socioeconomically deprived areas of São Paulo, Brazil". The doctoral fellow who will receive this scholarship will have full dedication to the project, interest in developing research skills with a focus on epidemiology and mental health. The project will aim to estimate the prevalence of Depression and depressive symptoms, and associated factors, in older adults registered in Basic Health Units (UBS) in the city of São Paulo. The study sample will consist of the older adults (approximately 24,000) who will participate in the screening evaluation of the clinical trial. The main outcome (Depression and depressive symptoms) will be assessed using the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9). (AU)
