Abstract

Ionic conductors are used in the most diverse areas of knowledge, highlighting their use as electrolytes in solid-state batteries. However, the mechanisms of ionic conductivity in glasses are still not very well elucidated. One of the most serious difficulties involves separating the contribution of the mobility term from the density of effective charge carriers in the total conductivity. There are some methods available in the literature demonstrating how it is possible to separate this contribution. This project proposes using selected methods, comparing and critically analyzing the difference between the obtained results. The selected methods will be applied in model glasses - for instance, lithium disilicate and/or sodium disilicate, as well as in glasses with new chemical compositions designed to increase the ionic conductivity. Furthermore, an internship abroad is planned to complement the experimental measurements carried out in Brazil. In this way, the project intends to collaborate with the advance in understanding the mechanisms involved in the ionic conduction of glasses. (AU)
