Abstract

The Educational Program on Resistance to Drugs and Violence (PROERD) is today the most widespread school prevention program in Brazilian schools. PROERD in its most current version is entitled "Caindo na Real", being translated in 2014 to Brazilian culture using the North American program Keepin 'it REAL. This is based on the theory of socio-emotional learning, which develops fundamental life skills for the emotional and relational improvement of children and adolescents, with a view to promoting health and preventing violence. How preventive interventions developed in other cultures can come to present null or negative results when implemented in different contexts, it is proposed to conduct a study to assess the need to adapt to the reality of the manuals used to guide the implementation of the PROERD School Program / "Falling into Real "considering the ecological validity model, in the process of implementing the existing curriculum in PROERD /" Falling into Real "(5th year of Elementary School I and 7th year of Elementary School II). A study of qualitative methods for describe the language assessment and the need to adapt the manuals used to guide the implementation of PROERD to the Brazilian reality. The study will take into account the cognitive development, communication and learning process of the Brazilian children, which inevitably are different from North American children, where the original program was developed. For the evaluation, forms applied to health and education professionals with questions covering analysis of the lessons offered by the PROERD manuals will be used, considering eight dimensions (language, people, metaphors, objectives, methods, content, concepts and context), in order to indicate the activities that need adaptation.
