Abstract

The lack of materials that subsidize the construction of implementation research designs in the country makes health researchers without access to Implementation Science expertise have the difficult task of identifying and assimilating design guidelines and recommendations laid out in different international sources when designing their research. As this task is not always successful, research designs with low methodological rigor and limited impact for publication and reorientation of practices are often observed. In this sense, the validation of the ImpRes Tool-BR represents an advance towards making available to researchers in the field, a culturally responsive tool that helps overcome these challenges. Preliminary results from the evaluation of the tool have pointed to its potency, but a question that has persisted since its original version was developed is whether the effectiveness of the tool with its supplementary guide is the same when offered passively compared to its offering through a course. Thus, through this Overseas Research Internship Grant project, we intend, together with researchers involved in the development of the original version of the tool, to develop a quasi-experimental study protocol that will allow us to evaluate the performance of the tool when offered individually and combined with a course to be developed jointly. The recipient's participation in the Centre for Implementation Science research meetings, the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) South London Implementation Science Masterclass (2022), and the 5th UK Implementation Science Research Conference will be among the activities involved in this process.
