Abstract

The objective of this project is to reflect on the consolidation of a critical research agenda in the area of the history of anthropology in Brazil, based on the work of Mariza Corrêa. Therefore, I intend to understand the process of constitution of an attentive look at the importance of analyzing the social markers of difference in the historiography of anthropological work, especially of gender, that Corrêa developed throughout his intellectual trajectory. I intend, through the study of these two dimensions of the anthropologist's work, to think about the consequences of her investigations in the production of a critical memory of the discipline. The research will be carried out through Corrêa's documents, currently deposited in the Edgard Leuenroth Archive (AEL); as well as through interviews with colleagues, family members and former students of the anthropologist, who may contribute to obtaining information regarding their experience about the developed work; and the formation of a network of collaborators in the institutional spaces it occupied. The study of her trajectory shows the close relationship between research work and the teaching and training of new generations of professionals in the discipline, attentive to the criticisms of scientific practice that, in Corrêa's case, are inseparable from the feminist theory practiced in the last decades of the last century. It is also expected to develop a reflection on the production of ethnographic research in personal archives and its contribution to anthropological work, as well as thinking about gender relations within archives and the constitution of a memory located through the documents of women working in the discipline.
