Abstract

The creation of innovative tools for the study of natural products is strategic for Brazil, since there are estimates that 64% of all medicines currently registered have a natural product involved in their development and that the Brazilian biodiversity corresponds to around 20% of the world's biodiversity. The scientific initiation project 19/18378-6, developed by student Ana C. L. Coelho, generated the tool for mining natural products, NPMINE, attached to this proposal. The scientific article, in preparation, demonstrates the potential of cataloging natural products, and demonstrated the need to create a tool that allows users to create, read, edit and delete cataloged objects (CRUD). The Computer Chemo-Biology Laboratory developed (Project 20/10351-9) and develops (Project 21/03368-5) projects for creating web applications (http://ccbl.fcfrp.usp.br/ccbl/training.html ), generating a library of code modules that can be used to support the development of more sophisticated projects (https://github.com/computational-chemical-biology/flask_tutorial). The Young Researcher project (Project 17/18922-2) integrates the rational design of web applications with the experimental planning and analysis of metabolomics (Proposal 21/10401-9) and metagenomics (Proposal 21/08235-3) data in such a way that the expansion of the laboratory's module library has the potential to allow the use of chemical structures mined by the NPMINE tool, as well as to promote the integration of metabolomics and metagenomics projects by creating interfaces that allow the user to contextualize the data collected in samples of microbial communities from marine environments, described in this proposal. Therefore, this project proposes to expand the library of web application modules by creating a CRUD tool for the exploration of natural products obtained from scientific literature.
