Abstract

This project seeks to analyze the formation of athletes in women's soccer based on exchanges with players who work and acted as professionals and the monitoring of activities with the "Oficial Meninas em Campo" NGO. The objective is, therefore, to understand the way in which the difficulties and prejudices of gender, race, sexuality, and class are understood as part of soccer formation, having incorporated into the discourse that constitutes the idea of "being a professional player". In this way, it seeks to explore how "being a woman playing soccer" produces disputes and tensions around the notions of the body and femininities in the soccer environment.(AU)
