Abstract

This study approaches therapeutical intervention in one of the most commons developmental disorders, the Speech Sound Disorder. Formerly called Fonological Disorder, it is related to ones difficulty to produce speech, what interferes in speech intelligibility or gets in the way of sending a message through verbal communication. It is characterized by the inadequate use of the languages phonological rules. The Initial Phonological Intervention Program (PROIFI) is composed of twelve sessions of intervention and its goal is to awake the child’s hearing perception, articulatory self awareness and all the phonological rules of the Brazilian Portuguese. This program aims a pre set global stimulation of the child’s phonological system, regardless of its individual processes. Considering Speech Sound Disorders high occurrence and the increasing search for telehealth modality of speech language pathology services, the goal of this study is to adapt PROIFIs traditional activities to a digital modality and compare the outcomes of children’s achievements with paper or digital resources.
