Abstract

This research aims to understand, from the Cultural-Historical Activity Theory (CHAT) perspective, how the escrevivência - Conceição Evaristo`s concept and method - can contribute to the Sociology teaching-learning process in High School. The "writing of us" or escrevivência, says the author, is deeply attached to her experiences and other black women's, because they live in the same historical-social context filled with race, ethnicity, gender, and class contradictions (EVARISTO, 2011). This poetic writing brings to the center subaltern narratives and, doing that, allows us to evidence intellectual productions, mainly written by afro-Latin-American women. In the Sociology teaching-learning process, these narratives grant the problematization of the social reality basing it in the student's experiences, which are inside of this contradictory context. Knowing these stories, recognizing themselves in them, and writing them, there's a possibility that the students will comprehend themselves as history and knowledge protagonists, and, doing that, they can establish a meaningful relationship with what they are doing in school. Thus, there's a possibility that the school environment accomplishes its function of socializing the knowledge developed in human history, including the intellectual production that, most times, is not found in this place. Therefore, this project intends to, establish a dialogue with, essentially, feminist authors: analyses the contribution of escrevivência to the teaching-learning process and its dialogue with the youth by its relation with the CHAT concepts of vivência e atividade Humana; consider the potential of the method to the rescue of afro-Latin-American women's intellectual production, using Boaventura de Sousa Santos concepts; develop a content analysis of Insubmissas Lágrimas de Mulheres; point out possibilities of how the escrevivência can be used in High School.
