Abstract

This project aims to seek in two works by Lévi-Strauss - Tristes Trópicos (1996a) and Saudades de São Paulo (1996b) - clues that help the construction of an anthropological way to look at cities from the perspectives of the anthropologist himself, unfolding - through graphic experiments - Lévi-Strauss' reflections and notes on this phenomenon. The questions around this objective are: how the cities of Lévi-Strauss' images and reports, in other times, help to reflect and anthropologically imagine the construction of our cities today? And yet, how can they participate in the construction of another way for anthropology approach the theme of cities? The drawings - and the graphic processes as a whole - become fundamental in this project since it aims to tread the paths of a graphic anthropology, experiencing its possibilities as suggested by Tim Ingold. Thus, this project seeks to systematize, analyze and deepen the reflections about cities outlined by Lévi-Strauss, in the aforementioned works, experiencing this path graphically and presenting the results and research processes in a way that is not restricted to the verbal text.
