Abstract

The present research project intends to be a continuation of the master's thesis entitled The Formation of the Communist Party of Brazil (PCB) in the city of São Paulo (1922 - 1930). Based on the results of this, we intend to present the thesis that the PCB in São Paulo developed in a relatively isolated way in relation to the more consistent ideological and organizational nuclei of the party, which, on the one hand, limited its ability to penetrate the workers' movement paulista and, on the other hand, it enabled the emergence of intellectuals with a relatively different Marxism throughout their trajectory compared to that which predominated in the leadership of the party, which constituted, during the period from 1922 to 1938, the particularity of the paulista PCB. We use the theory of organic intellectual by Antônio Gramsci to analyze the intellectuals of the Pcebistas in the city of São Paulo, verifying the degree of organicity they achieved with the São Paulo working class. With this, we aim to point out the heart of the contradiction of the PCB having a deficient performance in the then largest manufacturing center in the Country. (AU)
