Abstract

Physical activity is a healthy act, which promotes numerous benefits, being a protective factor for the development of different diseases, especially when practiced within the recommendations (300 minutes or more) proposed by the World Health Organization. Recent studies have indicated that diseases and mental disorders are related to lesser PA accumulation, in which we highlight depression. Furthermore, physical activity can protect against the onset of depression. Objective: This study aims to verify whether, in patients with depression, mobility limitation is a predictor of lower PA and higher CS. Methods: People diagnosed with depression by the Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview (MINI) will be assessed for symptoms of depression - Montgomery-Asberg Depression Rating Scale MADRS and mobility - Time up and go tests - TUG, Cognitive Time up and go, grip strength manual, 6-minute walk test. The level of physical activity will be assessed by a tri-axial accelerometer (GT9X Actigraph, Pensacola, USA). Expected results: It is expected to show whether mobility limitation is a predictor of lower PA and higher CS.(AU)
