Abstract

HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis are communicable diseases neglected by people in the world and in Brazil, among them the child population. Many children are affected by both diseases, however, despite the alarming rates, much of this population is still ignored in relation to treatment, diagnosis, and notification. With Thus, they are susceptible to developing severe forms of these infections. Still, the situation worsened after the pandemic of COVID-19, for this reason, attention to HIV/Aids and TB in children is necessary. Objective: To evaluate the temporal trend of childhood cases of HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis in the municipality of São Carlos, SP, Brazil. Methods: this is an ecological study, of exploratory time trend design, in order to compare the rate of an offense over time. The study population will be constituted by the registry of childhood cases of HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis residing in São Carlos, registered from 2012 to 2021, in the age group zero to 13 years old, seen at the Center for years old, seen at the Chronic Infections Care Center (CAIC) of the city. After data collection, the Prais-Winsten autoregression method will be used, using STATA software in order to classify the trend as increasing, decreasing or stationary, or stationary, calculate the percentage of monthly variation and graph the temporal trend of both diseases in the child population.(AU)
