Abstract

Research on teacher training recognizes that there is a couple of knowledges that are fundamental to the exercise of the profession. A teacher's knowledge base presupposes knowledge of specific, pedagogical content, curriculum, students, assessment and pedagogical content knowledge (PCK). Among these knowledge, PCK stands out as the central knowledge of a teacher. In this project, we intend to document and analyze the development of teaching knowledge of undergraduates in chemistry inserted in the Residência Pedagógica (RP) program, so that the contribution that RP plays in the development of this knowledge in the initial training of chemistry teachers can be investigated. As part of the RP project, the undergraduates plan and discuss intervention activities related to different Chemistry contents for the students of the school-camp in which they are inserted. These activities are applied and the entire process of planning, intervention and reflection on the practice is recorded in audio, video and text, composing the research data. The analysis is based on the documentation of the development of teaching knowledge of these undergraduates using content analysis, starting from the categories of knowledge and domains of PCK established in the Consensual Model and Refined Consensual Model. Through critical reflection on the activities carried out, the subjects analyzed will be encouraged to indicate possible improvements to the program that make it contribute even more to the initial teacher training. From this, an activity will be planned for the development of teaching knowledge on the theme of oxidation-reduction, considering the considerations raised by the residents about the program.
