Abstract

This research project aims to investigate the construction of homosexual identities, having as a historical perspective the second half of the Brazilian military dictatorship. As the object of this investigation, we point out four works: the novel As traças, by Cassandra Rios, the book of short stories Testamento de Jônatas deixado a David, by João Silvério Trevisan and the dramaturgical texts Lira dos Vinte Anos and As três moças do sabonete, by Paulo César Coutinho and Herbert Daniel, respectively. From these works, we will verify the emergence of dissident identities to heterosexuality, their conditions of enunciation and their relations with literature and theater, with attention focused on the configuration of sexuality as a terrain for identity disputes.
