Abstract

Antibiotics for veterinary use are essential for the control, prevention and treatment of a range of infectious diseases. Antimicrobial additives can assist in the absorption of nutrients, inhibiting the growth of pathogenic microorganisms and increasing the performance of these animals. Over time, the indiscriminate use of these molecules has strongly unbalanced the balance of the intestinal microbiota of monogastrics, also leading to the production of antimicrobial resistance, which generates serious risks to animal and, consequently, to human health. Thus, the objective of this project is to evaluate whether the supplementation of the antimicrobial peptide analogues Ctx(Ile21)-Ha for monogastric animals can achieve a better performance of antimicrobial peptide formulations in broilers. Therefore, the test will be performed by analyzing a complete reproductive cycle of these animals. Measurements of performance parameters, performance and analysis will be performed to evaluate the efficiency of microencapsulation of the antimicrobial peptide and its effect on diets of sanitary challenged monogastrics, as well as to analyze its influence on the immune system, antioxidant system, intestinal health and muscle growth of the animals. broiler chickens.
