Abstract

The use of bacteriocins is a promising, efficient, and current approach to food conservation, as it aims to reduce pathogenic microorganisms that cause economic losses in poultry and swine farming. Thus, this proposal intends to identify and understand possible relationships between bacteriocins, their sequences, and the niche to obtain by genomic and data mining studies focusing on bacteriocin-producing genes in Ligilactobacillus salivarius of agricultural interest. For this, 398 genomes of Ligiactobacillus salivarius from the "Genomes - NCBI Datasets" platform will be evaluated, and the prediction and typing of bacteriocins will be performed using the BAGEL4 tool. Then, the sequences will be manually curated through MAFFT alignment, visualization by the CLC Genomic Viewer, and phylogenetic analysis by maximum likelihood. Additionally, mobile genetic elements will be analyzed by PHASTER and the Mobile Element Finder and 3D structure prediction by the ROBETTA platform. It is expected that the analysis of the results obtained will contribute to a greater genomic understanding of these metabolic products, increasing not only literary knowledge but their possible application in the production chain.(AU)
