Abstract

This proposal is a case study on the pandemic coping strategies developed in the community of Paraisópolis (São Paulo), analyzing to what extent community mobilization, self-management, and solidarity become decisive in a context of crisis and exclusion. With a predominantly qualitative character, the research will be divided into three stages, namely: 1) Bibliographic review and survey of indicators from official agencies, as a conceptual and contextual background, with emphasis on the vulnerability of the black Brazilian population during the pandemic; 2) Processes of resistance led by the community of Paraisópolis-SP, including bibliographic and documentary research, surveys of indicators and information available in virtual spaces of communication (social networks, blogs, websites); 3) Refining the data collected and results in dissemination. The activities will be developed within the scope of the Laboratory of Technologies and Social Transformations (LABTTS) of the Department of Science and Technology Policy of the Institute of Geosciences of the State University of Campinas (DPCT/IG/Unicamp), integrated into the research line Science, Technology and Social Movements.
