Abstract

The present work seeks to investigate values of permeability to liquid flow of tropical species wood aiming at the comparison of the statistical analyzes of the results obtained through laboratory tests with minimum values of permeability necessary for the manufacture of pieces of glued laminated wood (glulam). Through the data obtained, the objective is to expand the range of available information, as well as to enable new investigations that lead to the definition of species that can be used in the glulam industry and balance the demand for Pine and Eucalyptus wood, currently exploited to manufacture of these elements.
