Abstract This project deals with the development of microfluidic devices integrated with microwire electrodes aiming at the determination of chemical species of environmental interest, such as dissolved oxygen, phosphate and pesticides. Prof. Henry research group has experience in both microfluidic cells and microwire electrode fabrication. Therefore, the proposal of this project is to integrate these devices, aiming at fast analysis and with extremely satisfactory results using small amounts of samples and also allowing in-situ analysis. Therefore, during the internship abroad, electrochemical sensors will be fabricated using microwires whose compositions and dimensions will be optimized. The design of the microfluidic cells will be created using CorelDraw software. Subsequently, these devices will be integrated in order to determine chemical species that are indicators of river water or seawater quality. (AU) | |
