Abstract

Menstruation, despite being a natural process, is crossed by prejudice and added to the fact that social, racial and gender inequalities exist, generate even more obstacles for menstrual dignity to reach all menstruating people, especially the younger ones. Thus, not only in Brazil, the movement for the right to menstruate with dignity has increased in recent years, with requests for the distribution of sanitary pads in schools, for example, which would be a direct action to prevent school dropouts during menstrual periods. Thus, the objective of this research is to understand the perceptions of teachers and school managers about the promotion of Menstrual Dignity. This is a qualitative, exploratory research that will interview manager(s) and teacher(s) from high schools. The analysis will be carried out through Thematic Analysis. It is expected to identify the difficulties faced by the school in the promotion of menstrual dignity and in the implementation of the government program, so that the teachers can be more prepared and confident to approach the subject with their students.
