Abstract

This project seeks to study the film Tetsuo (1989), by japanese director Shinya Tsukamoto in light of japanese industrialization from the 80s and Tokyos growth. We seek to understand the relationship of the content of the work with its production context and the other cinematographic achievements of the the period, establishing connections with others horror and science fiction films who deal with the body horror theme and cyberpunk universe, in order to understand how these transformations illustrate and sediment the japanese social imaginary and Tsukamotos filmography.
