Abstract

The study aims to evaluate the adhesion of resin cement to soda-lime glasses with and withoutsilver, through the shear test. 60 square slices of 5Y-PSZ zirconia (Katana UTML, KurarayNoritake, Japan) and 30 slices of leucite-reinforced feldspathic ceramic (IPS Empress CAD,Ivoclar Vivadent, Liechtenstein) will be made. Subsequently, the zirconia samples will besintered following the protocol recommended by the manufacturer. All specimens will have finaldimensions of 4.0 x 4.0 x 1.6 mm. Then, the samples will be distributed in groups (n=15): SL(zirconia + soda-lime glass), SLAg (zirconia + soda-lime glass with silver), SLe (aged blendedof zirconia + soda-lime glass), SLAge ( aged blended of zirconia + soda-lime glass with silver),FL (feldspathic reinforced by leucite) and FLe (feldspathic reinforced by leucite aged). Thesoda-lime glass powder with and without silver will be diluted in Propylene Glycol and appliedon the surface of the specimens for subsequent sintering. The aged groups will be stored indistilled water for 6 months. The samples will be conditioned with 5% hydrofluoric acid for 60 s,and subsequently, a portable rugosimeter will take three parallel readings of 3 mm, with ascanning speed of 0.2 mm/s to obtain Ra and Rz values. Then, an optical profilometer willgenerate a 3D image of the surface profile. In the microshear test, the specimens will bepositioned in a universal machine, with a load cell of 50 N and displacement speed of 0.5mm/min until fracture. The samples will be analyzed under a scanning electron microscope toclassify the type of failure. Quantitative data will be submitted to the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, tabulated for descriptive analysis and inferential analysis.
