Abstract

The current project for a research internship aims to investigate how palliative care has been institutionalized and legitimized in the European context, especially in the Netherlands. From a bibliographic review and the survey of official documents dealing with the diffusion and implementation of policies and health care models oriented by the principles that guide palliative care, I intend to identify the main categories, actors, practices, and sets of values that characterize this process. In this sense, the research stage at Leiden University will enable us to establish a contrastive look with the Dutch context at the time of construction of the analysis of the field data collected in the doctoral research carried out in Brazil throughout the year 2021. The ongoing project "Globalizing Palliative Care?" and the reading group "Care in Future" will offer the exchange of theoretical approaches, fieldwork experiences, and a significant relationship between our research institutions over these themes.
