Abstract

This research project aims to investigate the feasibility of utilizing time-frequency representations for tool condition monitoring in machining operations through the wigner-ville distribution. The proposed study will be validated through experimental analysis using the milling process. The tool wear in various machining conditions will be studied through the corresponding acoustic signals collected during the process. It is expected that the results obtained from the proposed method will contribute to the optimization of manufacturing processes and fill existing gaps in the practical use of classification and pattern recognition algorithms by providing tools to overcome the limitations of long sequential data training and a more unambiguous interpretation of the results.
