Abstract

The initial task will be the modernization of the acquisition system of a position-sensitive large area neutron detector with neutron / gamma-ray discrimination, available in LAFN (Open Laboratory of Nuclear Physics at IF-USP). Known as Neutron Wall (NW), the device was designed to detect neutrons with kinetic energies of 1MeV to 100 MeV [1]. For this reason, it will be very useful to investigate breakup reactions involving neutron-rich nuclei, produced in RIBRAS [2], as the neutrons can be detected in temporal coincidence with charged particles and/or gammas. The NW is an instrument intended to be common to several experimental research lines within the LAFN facilities and has a certain mobility around the different reaction chambers, constituting a multiuser and multidisciplinary equipment. Therefore, its electronics should be flexible to incorporate into experiences and user-friendly for different groups of researchers. (AU)
