Abstract

Inflammatory diseases constitute a complex and heterogeneous group of diseases, being an important cause of morbidity and mortality. With the development of next-generation technologies such as single-cell sequencing, we intend to expand investigations into the transcriptional profile of different inflammatory diseases. Several studies of inflammatory diseases are being developed in our laboratory including: 1) infectious, 2) autoimmune, 3) cardiovascular, as well as cancer and chronic pain. In the present project, we aimed to characterize the cellular composition and transcriptome of a model of neuropathic pain through single-cell sequencing. In addition, we will provide technical and scientific support for the other inflammatory disease single cell experiments, training for researchers, and the preparation of libraries for sequencing. The development of this project and the transcriptome dataset will allow: 1) to recognize of new molecular (genetic, intracellular signaling) and immunological (cellular) mechanisms involved in the triggering, maintenance, and resistance of these diseases; 2) search for possible diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers; 3) identify new biological targets for the development of tools (drugs, antibodies, immunobiological, etc.) for the treatment of these diseases.
