Abstract

This project aims to develop a Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (MDO) algorithm for the mechanical project of radio-controlled aircraft. For this purpose, it will be used optimization techniques that consider different areas of knowledge: aerodynamics, structures, systems and control. The proposed methodology involves the mechanical modeling of the aircraft, the creation of a database with relevant information and project history, and the programming of algorithms in Python language. Due to the necessary conditions of convergence of the optimization problem, the use of genetic algorithm available into the Python libraries will be focused. The expected results are a decrease in project costs, an increase in flight efficiency and the aircraft's assertiveness when faced with project constraints. This project will contribute to the improvement of the area of multidisciplinary aeronautics projects, as the knowledge of the course subjects and the competition team, and as a workbench for the application of the mathematical techniques to solve engineering problems.
