Abstract

The interesting photophysical responses associated with the immense optimization capacity of non-linear response through molecular engineering, brought to organic compounds a diversity of applications related to optics, spectroscopy and photonics. In particular, the study of the non-linear properties of these materials paved the way for applications ranging from the monitoring of biological processes through fluorescent probes, to bioimaging processes using fluorescence microscopy by absorption of two photons. In this sense, the proposed project will seek to carry out the linear absorptive characterization and non-linear analysis of a set of molecules derived from imidazopyridines, as well as the dynamics of their excited states, evaluating the possible contributions of different groups peripherals in these behaviors. The combination of properties such as the relocation of electrons and the formation of tautomers in excited states, give this set of molecules a promising scope of optical properties that favor their applications inbiology and medicine, associating in addition to the generation and optimization of new technologies, studies about parameters of fundamental physics.
